Palin on SNL...No Really

Was it big? You betcha.

Sarah Palin's much-anticipated Saturday Night Live appearance scored the late-night show's biggest overnight ratings since the Clinton Adminstration.

Total audience numbers weren't yet available, although it sounds as if there might have been as many viewers as there were cameos—by Alec Baldwin, Mark Wahlberg, Tina Fey (as Palin), and, of course, Palin (as Palin).

NBC said SNL enjoyed its best numbers in the nation's top TV markets since a post-Olympic, post-knee-clubbed Nancy Kerrigan hosted in 1994.

Palin's appearance came after Fey spoofed the Alaskan governor and Republican veep contender on three earlier SNL shows.

And finally, this song is swesome! I downloaded it this morning and I've listened to it non stop for half an hour!

In a recent interview on Australian TV show Rove [live], Kylie Minogue told Rove that her and her sister, Dannii had recorded a song that would give her the #1 spot again amongst the gay fans after she had dropped to #2!

The Winner Takes It All is the classic Abba song with a Minogue twist! I'm not sure as yet if it's to be released as a single? but, it is featured on the Beautful People soundtrack!

This track is AWESOME! Welcome back the queens of pop and camp!

America becomes Absolutely Fabulous

The current US TV season already includes American remakes of international series Kath & Kim and Eleventh Hour, and now another much-loved TV show has been targeted for adaptation: Absolutely Fabulous.

According to Variety, US network Fox is attempting to remake the classic Britcom with Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz acting as co-executive producer.

The planned adaptation will relocate the series to Los Angeles but keep the basic plot of the original series, which revolved around narcissistic PR executive Edina Moon (Jennifer Saunders, who also created and wrote the series), her boozy best friend Patsy Stone (Joanna Lumley) and long-suffering daughter Saffy (Julia Sawalha).

Saturday Night Live writer Christine Zander will pen the pilot's script, while Saunders is also attached to the project as co-executive producer.

It's not the first time that the US has attempted to do Ab Fab: in the mid-'90s comedienne Roseanne Barr developed a spin-off with Carrie Fisher, which ultimately never went to air. The sitcom Cybill was also loosely inspired by the British comedy.

The series premiered in 1992 but has returned to the airwaves in recent years with new seasons and special episodes.

Absolutely Fabulous airs in Australia on the Comedy Channel.
